Another very important location for sightseeing is the Altes Museum. 1825, is the year in which the construction of the museum began and it ended in 1828 but it was not opened to the public until 1930. Karl Friedrich was tasked with designing the museum and he based his design to the Greek Stoa, Athens. There is a large garden and palace that surrounds the museum. Two courtyards are housed by the museum with a rotunda and drum. In addition there are antiques, statutes, sculpture decoration and vases that act as decoration to the interior of the museum. The museum is considered to be the oldest and largest public building in the entire city of Berlin. There is nowhere else where sightseeing is as interesting and enjoyable like in Berlin.
